The environmental zone covers the entire city centre (the whole area within the S-Bahn Circle line –Ringbahn S 41 and S 42).
That means only vehicles that have the environmental sticker (Umweltplakate) are allowed to drive here.
You can either park your car outside the environmental zone and take public transport, or purchase an environmental sticker for your car.
Leave the car and use public transport…
Public transportation in Berlin is very good! If you are not planning to use your car to get around, we recommend you park it outside the S-Bahn Circle (Ring) line and use public transport. The best place to park is at one of the major regional stations such as Westkreuz, Südkreuz, Ostkreuz or Gesundbrunnen.
Buy an environmental sticker...
Of course you can also buy a sticker. Du bekommst die „Umweltplakette“ bei Kfz-Zulassungsstellen, bei vielen Autohändlern und an einigen Tankstellen.
You can get the environmental sticker from motor vehicle registration authorities, many car dealers and at some petrol stations. You can also order it online: cars with German number plates or cars without German number plates.
